"The hallmark of an authentic evangelicalism is . . . the willingness to submit every tradition . . . to fresh Biblical scrutiny and, if necessary, reform." John Stott - Christianity Today, January 8, 1996

Vending Machine Jesus???
Here's a clever video produced by Community Christian Church that makes a point about our prayer lives. What do you think? Is it accurate?
Just shooting from the hip here...Doesn't the Lord's Prayer have a lot of 'gimme's in it? It's asking God to do a lot...physical needs, relationship needs, spiritual needs. Granted, the three parts of prayer are still there - praise, petition, thanksgiving. It seems to me that we are just a very needy lot, particularly now.
I have always done the opposite. When things are good, I am all about communing with the Lord and praises all the day long with song. BUT...... when the stuff hits the fan, I always forget where to go for help and comfort. Leave it up to me to be backwards.
